Smoky Mountain River Cleanup Donation
During April and May, 2018, the Smoky Mountain Bald Eagle Nest has become the focus of environmental issues that impact Bald Eagle nests and other wildlife around the country. Eagles face a big risk when bringing food back to their nest that have remnants of fishing tackle. As we’ve seen in the Smoky Mountain nest, fishing line, lures, hooks and sinkers can threaten wildlife.

The American Eagle Foundation has pledged to work with local organizations and the local community to address the dangers of leaving behind fishing supplies. As responsible stewards of the environment, we all should take an active role in picking up fishing tackle, lines, and litter.
Your constant support has helped to fund the very costly rescue missions this nesting season. We hope that you will continue to support our efforts as we seek to reduce the preventable hazards that have endangered the Smoky Mountain nest.
The American Eagle Foundation is forever grateful for your contributions, which help protect and preserve our nation’s symbol and other wildlife.
