Hurricane Matthew Threatens NEFL Nest
(Backdated) October 16th, 2016
The AEF team and Challenger were on the road October 10 when Hurricane Matthew hit the Southeastern coast of the United States, bringing high winds and destruction.
Our thoughts were on the nest of Romeo & Juliet in NEFL, as well as the habitats and safety of other wildlife and individuals in the path of Hurricane Matthew.
Our Northeast Florida Eagle Cam lost power as the storm raged, but as soon as people were allowed back into the area, we were ecstatic to know that these eagles and their sturdy nest survived the storm. In fact, they were back with “nestorations” as soon as the storm passed.
