The Wings of America Birds of Prey Show and Eagle Mountain Sanctuary at Dollywood is a partnership that has informed countless Dollywood guests about Birds of Prey and the American Eagle Foundation.

Dollywood & the American Eagle Foundation: a Winning Combination for 30 years

In 1990, the AEF entered into a multi-year corporate partnership with the Dollywood Company and cooperated with them to design and develop the United States Eagle Center at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This facility would be used to conduct public environmental education, daily care of non-releasable birds of prey, raptor rehabilitation, and a Bald Eagle breeding/release program.

Dolly Parton, Bob Hope, Al CecereIn April 1991, Dolly Parton, Al Cecere, and Bob Hope participated in the Grand Opening Ceremony for Eagle Mountain Sanctuary by releasing a Bald Eagle into the habitat.

Today, the American Eagle Foundation and Dollywood operate the Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, which is the largest exhibit of non-releasable Bald Eagles in the United States, and the Wings of America Birds of Prey show where people can see various birds of prey up close and in action.

As a result of this partnership, millions of Dollywood guests have been able to learn more about The American Eagle Foundation, its mission, and the Bald Eagles and other birds of prey that the AEF is dedicated to protecting and preserving for many years to come. We can’t thank Dollywood and Dolly Parton enough for their support!
