Challenger’s Fall 2016 Football Appearances
[/av_textblock] [av_textblock size=” font_color=” color=” custom_class=”] November 20, 2017[/av_textblock] [av_textblock size=” font_color=” color=” custom_class=”] After Challenger the Eagle’s annual molt this summer, he went on an educational tour like never before. He performed and appeared at 18 major events and meetings between August and November! These appearances raise awareness about the Bald Eagle and the environment, thereby educating millions of people and inspiring them to be torchbearers for the future; to speak for the animals; to protect the planet for generations yet to come.
Challenger is most well known for his awe-inspiring free-flight demonstrations through football stadiums during the Star Spangled Banner. This blog post covers all of the Football appearances Challenger made during September-November. When Challenger and the AEF staff travel to these high-visibility venues, they often carry AEF’s outreach programs into hospitals, nursing homes, and schools in the area. By making this extra effort, hundreds more can see Challenger up close, learn about the AEF and what it does to protect and preserve our National Symbol.

Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills 9/11 Tribute Game
September 11, 2016: This afternoon, Challenger the Eagle spread his wings and soared through the sky in remembrance of those that we lost 15 years ago today. We will never forget. Challenger traveled all around NYC after the attacks lifting the spirits of fire fighters, police officers, and New Yorkers. He flew at every home Yankees game that fall, and today he got to fly on the 15th anniversary of that tragic day at the Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills 9/11 Tribute Game.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Pittsburgh Steelers
On September 25, Challenger traveled to Lincoln Financial Field to fly in pregame ceremonies before the kickoff between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was another awesome flight by Challenger; he landed on the last note of the Star Spangled Banner! Thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles for inviting Challenger and the AEF to their Military Appreciation game!

Oregon Ducks vs Washington Huskies
On October 8, Challenger traveled with the AEF crew to Eugene Oregon to fly at the Oregon Ducks / Washington Huskies NFL game.

Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars
On October 27, Challenger and the AEF team were in Nashville TN where the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars faced off in another NFL battle. This wonderful video shows Challenger soaring above Nissan stadium, landing perfectly on Al Cecere’s glove as the last notes of the Star Spangled Banner were heard.

Houston Texans vs Detroit Lions
Three days later, on October 30, America’s Favorite Bald Eagle was at the NRG Stadium performing at the Houston Texans vs. Detroit Lions game. Challenger even wore his action cam! Enjoy the video!

Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers
On November 6, Challenger flew at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore during the National Anthem at the Baltimore Ravens – Pittsburgh Steelers NFL game. Challenger soared brilliantly, even making a pass through the goal posts for an extra special effect!

On November 13, Challenger flew beautifully over a field-sized U.S. flag at the Cardinals vs 49ers at the University of Phoenix Stadium. WOW! What a flight!

Indianapolis Colts vs Tennessee Titans
Challenger never fails to impress! Thanks to the Indianapolis Colts for having us back to participate before the game between the Colts & Tennessee Titans on November 20 at Lucus Oil Stadium. Over a field-sized flag, Challenger soared to the roars of the crowd as the last notes of the National Anthem were played!
