The American Eagle Foundation is not currently seeking employees, however we are always accepting application for future employment.

2021 Spring Internship Program

NEW!! This year, the AEF invites current university students and recent graduates to apply for our Spring Internship Program. 2-3 interns will actively work with our non-releasable birds of prey.

Internships are unpaid. Interns are also provided with assistance in securing housing, although housing is the responsibility of the intern. Interns must be able to provide their own transportation.

Applications need to be submitted October 15 – November 15, 2020 (Extended to November 22).

Avian Care Specialist / Headquarters

Required Prerequisites: Must have flexible days / hours. Must have a clean driving record. Must be able to pass both a background check and drug screen.

Desired Job Prerequisites: We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality, prior bird handling experience is a plus, and prior public speaking / education for large to small audiences.

Primary Focus/Location: Raptor husbandry, education, and public interaction at AEF Headquarters.

To apply for our Avian Care Specialist / Headquarters Position:

Creative Coordinator (Marketing, P.R. & Social Media)

Required Prerequisites: Must be a legal resident of the United States; 4-year degree.

Desired Job Prerequisites: Preference will be given to candidates with: proficient grammar and creative-writing skills; photo editing and graphics design experience; photography, videography, and video editing experience; social media management and communications abilities; knowledge of marketing and advertising; and/or experience with the WordPress platform.

This position has been filled, and there are currently no Creative Coordinator (Marketing, P.R. & Social Media)  job openings at the AEF.

Administrative, P.R. Management & Curator Positions

Administrative, P.R., Management, and Curator Positions require substantial field experience, whether at the AEF or another raptor/wildlife organization, and a four-year degree.

There are currently no Administrative, Management or Curator job openings at the AEF. If you are interested in any future position openings, you may still send in an application for future reference.

2021 Summer Internship Program

Each year, the AEF invites current university students and recent graduates to apply for our Summer Internship Program. 2-3 interns will actively work with our non-releasable birds, feed our Eagles on Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, work on special projects with AEF’s Marketing Coordinator, perform in our educational Wings of America birds-of-prey show, and get first hand experience banding/tagging/caring for our captive-hatched eaglets that are released into the wild from our hack tower on Douglas Lake each summer.

Internships are unpaid, but a weekly stipend is offered to help offset basic living expenses. Interns are also provided with assistance in securing housing, although housing is the responsibility of the intern. Interns must be able to provide their own transportation.

Applications need to be submitted Jan. 1 – March 1, 2021.
