2022 Summer Internship Program
American Eagle Foundation (AEF) is seeking driven, passionate, and conservation-minded university students and recent graduates to join our team for the upcoming summer months. The AEF internship program is a unique, hands-on learning experience. As an intern at AEF, you will have the opportunity to work with our non-releasable avian ambassadors, working alongside staff to provide them with the highest quality husbandry, training, and enrichment opportunities. Interns may also have the opportunity to assist staff in providing educational programs, both locally in our community and at Dollywood.
Examples of tasks you may be learning include:
- Preparing avian diets
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and repairing enclosures
- Preparation and distribution of enrichment items
- Care of birds of prey in a rehabilitation setting
- Proper handling of some species of raptors
- Basic raptor training.
If any of these tasks interest you, please send us an application! We will begin conducting interviews for our summer program in March.
