Item # sh_019 Learn how you can conduct a Save The Eagle Fundraiser by selling this shirt! The bird on this shirt is Osceola, a male Bald eagle found on January 20, 1983 by two rabbit hunters 15 miles outside of Osceola, Arkansas. He had been shot in his left wing. The majority of the damage was due to the 200 ft. fall. He had been on the ground about a week and the wing had become badly infected. The Memphis Zoo veterinarian worked for three days to try and save the wing, but on the third day he had to amputate. Osceola now lives at the American Eagle Foundation in Pigeon Forge, TN. Osceola was given the opportunity to "fly" again with the help of John Stokes, who took Osceola for a "ride" on his hang glider. This was the first time Osceola has "flown" in 13 years.
