Mr. Lincoln
Mr. Lincoln

Mr. Lincoln is a male Bald Eagle hatched and raised at the American Eagle Foundation (formerly National Foundation to Protect America's Eagles) in Pigeon Forge, TN. He was hatched in 1998 from our breeding pair, Liberty and Justice, at the Dollywood theme park. He was taken to our hack tower on Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN at 8 weeks of age. He was released from the tower on 8/17/98 at 12 weeks of age. Hacking is the release of a bird of prey into the wild.

He was captured and found to be emaciated on 9/14/98 by Joe Rogers of the Wildlife Recovery Association in Shepherd, MI. There were no signs of injury; he just never learned how to hunt for himself. He was sent to Marge Gibson, at a Wisconsin Rehabilitation Center for further observation and care.

Mr. Lincoln returned to AEF on 12/28/98. He lives in the eagle barn and has started training so he can participate in AEF's educational programs around the country.
