Friar Tuck

Friar Tuck - African Pied CrowFriar Tuck is an African Pied Crow that was hatched in 2003.

Crows are part of the Corvid family, which is thought to be the most intelligent group of birds. They are therefore very easily trained. This may explain why TUck is one of the show favorites in the "Wings of America" birds of prey show at Dollyood in Pigeon Forge, TN.

At the end of each show, Tuck will take your money with his beak and "tuck" it in the specially-made donation box he perches on. He cannot take coins because he might swallow them, but will take any size bill. For a $5 donation,  you can get a bumper sticker with Tuck's picture on it that reads "Tuck Took My Money."

When Friar Tuck isn't on the stage at Dollywood, he entertains students and staff at school shows and other outside programs.

Upon entering the barn where all the birds are kept, employees and volunteers will call out to Tuck in greeting as they prepare for the day. Tuck's favorite answer is, "What!" He also mimics "Hi, Friar Tuck," or "Aww, Tuck," and occasionally will  yell "Come in!" when someone rings the doorbell.
