Frankie Screech Owl

Frankie is a female screech owl who came to the American Eagle Foundation in 1997. We do not know her exact age because when she came to the AEF she was already full grown. In the wild, screech owls can live to be 10 years old and twice that in captivity!

Frankie lives at the American Eagle Foundation because she was found with a head injury, possibly the result of a collision with a car. Her injury required several stitches around her head, which inspired her full name: Frankenstein.

Frankie educates the public during educational shows at schools, outside programs, and is a show favorite at the "Wings of America" birds of prey show at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.
